When you sell on Lazada, you may meet shipping fees overcharge. The shipping fee overcharge is the discrepancy between the actual shipping fee charged by Lazada and the estimated shipping fee paid by buyer. 


Profit is a necessary skill for any Lazada sellers, and it may involve avoiding overcharges for shipping fees. Next I will show you why Lazada shipping fees are overcharged and how to prevent it.
 

What is the shipping fee overcharge?

Shipping fee overcharge is the excessive shipping fee by sellers when the shipping fee charged by logistics is higher than the shipping fee calculated by Lazada based on the weight or volumetric weight. 
 

Why does this happen?

It could be due to these following reasons:
  • You didn’t input the correct dimension of package
When you publish products on Lazada, you may input the wrong package dimension. The Lazada system will calculate the shipping fee based on actual weight or volumetric weight depending on whichever is higher. Therefore, when you input the wrong dimension in the product, Lazada will then calculate the shipping fees higher than the actual shipping fees.
  • You didn’t input the correct weight of package
You may enter the wrong weight of the package. When you deliver the package to the logistics, the courier will measure the package with the pouch bag, bubble wrap, and Lazada bag, not only the product weight. it may be heavier than when you entered your product. For example, your product weight is 0.5kg, but in the sorting center, it may be 1kg with the packaging material.

  • Use accurate measuring equipment.

  • Take packaging material into account
You need to measure the package with the bubble wrap and other packaging materials, don't measure the product only.
  • Input the higher measurement
If your product and package weight is 1kg, it might be a good idea to input 1.2kg in your product. In this way, you can avoid paying the shipping fee overcharge because the package will weigh higher in the sorting center.
